Aimee Redmond, RMT
Aimee was born in Burlington, Ontario, shortly after her parents immigrated from Scotland. A love of sports and helping others sparked an interest in the human body. After watching her mum suffer with pain and dysfunction for years after a car accident, where traditional medicine provided no relief, she began the journey to become a Massage Therapist.
Aimee graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough ON, in 1999. She has worked collaboratively with physiotherapists, chiropractors and osteopaths. Aimee mentored with a massage therapist that trained her in deep tissue techniques. As her career has developed 0ver 25 years she has learned to incorporate those with less invasive techniques to achieve the same relief for her clients. She has completed 2 levels of craniosacral training with The Upledger Institute, Soft tissue release with Stuart Taws, and cupping massage. She has recently been exploring and learning about oncology massage and is hopeful about the comfort it can provide cancer patients during and after treatment. If you’re booking for oncology massage please let the clinic know at the time of booking.
Aimee has also taken a special interest in the treatment of TMJ dysfunction. After witnessing her mum’s journey after a car accident she was motivated to help find relief for people experiencing jaw pain and dysfunction. Over the years she has developed a treatment to address the soft tissue structures, including the fascia, to provide pain relief and increase functionality.
Aimee moved to our community in 2004, and lives with her husband and two daughters in Hacketts Cove. She worked as a clinic supervisor and teaching assistant at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy soon after moving to Nova scotia. Aimee loves getting to know people and enjoys seeing a wide cross section of clients from the community. She looks forward to any opportunity where she can help her clients to leave the treatment room feeling better and will use her 25 years of experience and knowledge to customize a treatment to meet your needs.
