Swedish Massage

Is the most commonly practiced massage therapy consisting of four basic techniques.

Effleurage: A smooth gliding stroke to relax soft tissue and increase circulation.

Petrissage: Applies deeper pressure compressing underlying muscles, kneading, wringing, squeezing and
rolling.

Friction: Deep cross fiber movements that help to breakdown scar tissue and increase blood flow.

Tapotement: Rhythmic percussion usually done with the edge of the hand, cupped hands or finger tips.
